ABOUT THE PROJECT
"Nine Lives of a Cat" is an installation by Anna Edwards which consists of nine pieces of art.
Each piece is an original artwork by Anna Edwards and it represents a portrait of a cat, created in the styles of different periods of history, from the English portrait of the XVIII century to the contemporary art of today.
This project is the artist’s reflection on the meaning of art and an attempt to discover, together with the members of the public, the future of art and the future of painting in particular. The last (the ninth) piece consists of a board with a question: “What is the future of art?”, and pieces of paper for the answers which the members of the public will attach to the board.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to vote for the piece which represents their favourite period in the history of art.
